This was week 1 of life drawing; we were given thick graphite pencil/crayons and sheets of paper. Using these we were instructed to draw a number of poses with a variety of restrictions including time and e.g. drawing using only lines or my left hand (non-dominant). This is the first time that I have completed life drawings (or drawings of any kind) and I was a little daunted to begin with. However being given the time restrictions etc helped reduce my anxieties and hesitations and I was pleased with the results. The session highlighted the skills required in practising drawing using appropriate proportions. I am sure I will get better at this the more I draw. I was particularly surprised at the drawing I produced with my non-dominant hand (left); photo number 9 and I could see an improvement from the first picture (no 1) I drew and the last picture (no 2).
