Life drawing for me has been a real revelation and huge learning experience having never tried drawing in any format previously.
I feel the main learning for me has been the importance of looking really closely; considering and representing proportions accurately and how different parts of the body relate to each other. As well as to just 'give it a go'; for example when drawing with my left hand (I am right handed) the drawings were almost better. I think this is because I was worrying much less about how the product will look and just enjoyed the process.
It also highlighted the importance of enjoying the process and practice, practice, practice! I can see in my work how I have used the different techniques and mark making in the other workshops to enhance the final pieces.
I have come to the realisation that I can draw; there is masses of room for improvement and work but I am at a much further stage in my development and confidence than when I started.
